Data Deletion
Last updated 10 July 2026
Two things you can do at any time: disconnect Instagram, or delete your whole account. Here's exactly how each one works.
Disconnect Instagram
This stops youreel from reaching your Instagram account, without deleting the account itself.
- Open Settings → Connections in youreel.
- Next to your Instagram account, choose Disconnect.
The moment you do this, we delete the access token we stored for you, so we can no longer read anything from Meta. The analytics we already collected stay in your account so your history isn't lost — if you want those gone too, delete your account below.
Delete your account and all your data
This removes your youreel account and the personal data tied to it, including the analytics we gathered from Instagram.
- Email us at hello@youreel.app from the address you signed up with, asking us to delete your account.
- We'll confirm, then erase your personal data within 30 days and delete any Instagram access token immediately.
A one-click “Delete account” button in Settings is planned; until then, deletion is handled by email as described here.
If you can't sign in
You don't need access to the app to have your data deleted. Just email hello@youreel.app from the address on your account and we'll take it from there.
What we keep, and why
After deletion we may keep the minimum required by law — for example, a record of a payment for accounting and tax purposes. Everything else is erased. For the full picture of what we collect and your rights, see our Privacy Policy.
